No single business organization understands that the work of the Ohio General Assembly clearly impacts the future of Ohio's business climate more fully than the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.
We continue that tradition, advancing legislation that will support successful Ohio businesses. Fighting for fair regulations and improving Ohio's job climate are only part of the Ohio Chamber's mission. We also save member companies money every day with a selection of free services and cost-saving programs.
As Ohio's largest and most diverse statewide business advocacy group, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce has been a consistent voice for business since 1893. We are dedicated to presenting Ohio lawmakers with the business perspective on issues.
The Ohio Business Council for a Clean Economy supports the transition to a low-carbon clean economy in Ohio and nationally. Our goal is to strengthen the business voice in support of policy to get us there.
This council acts as a coordinating entity, providing each business and individual business leader with opportunities to play a larger role in climate and energy debates. A strong business voice in support of clean energy and more jobs is crucial to the success of national climate legislation.
Our mission is to advance The Ohio State University's national role and success with solving the global energy issues while promoting environmental sustainability by expanding and coordinating our assets and outreach.

Within a decade, Central Ohio will be widely recognized as one of the premier technology-enriched communities in the world and a leader in tech-related business formation, expansion, and attraction.
It’s time for everyone in our country — including energy-consuming industrial companies – to step up to the challenge of using sustainable energy. Our planet, and the future of our manufacturing sector, depends on it. To facilitate this initiative, the folks at EWI have created the EWI Energy Center.
For years, EWI has helped manufacturers in the energy sector and other industries improve their productivity, time to market, and profitability through new, innovative technologies. For each of them, energy plays a pivotal role — and presents serious challenges.
At our new EWI Energy Center, we’ve gathered our best and brightest engineers, scientists, technologists, project managers, and subject matter experts to help new energy companies, manufacturers, government entities, and venture capitalists make the best use of evolving advanced energy technologies and bring new solutions to market. Learn how we can help you here.
NorTech, (the Northeast Ohio Technology Coalition) is a nonprofit Technology-Based Economic Development (TBED) organization that champions growth in Northeast Ohio's 21 county region. NorTech marshals resources and forges collaborations to put economic growth on the fast track by: accelerating technology development and moving innovations from the lab to the marketplace; driving growth in the region's high tech industries (with a current focus on Advanced Energy and Flexible Electronics); and expanding state and federal funding to support early stage technology commercialization and industry building.
The organization was founded in April 2007, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the presidents of the 15 major research institutions in the state.
The formal agreement was preceded, however, by considerable deliberation on how best to accomplish the goal of collaboration among universities conducting research in the clean energy arena. It was decided that, by forming an alliance, those members of the faculty and staff committed to advancing the cause of alternative energy in Ohio would be able to leverage their respective resources, share expertise and, as a result, become more competitive in the quest for research funding. In addition, the concept of collaboration was extended to include other academic institutions, private sector entities, agencies of the state and federal government, and non-profit organizations with an energy portfolio. This outreach effort continues to expand, in recognition of the fact that without active participation by all stakeholders, UCEAO’s ultimate goal of the deployment of new technologies cannot be accomplished.
Although very important, the research enterprise is not the exclusive focus of UCEAO. Since our formation, a number of important projects with associated goals have been undertaken.
UCEAO is uniquely positioned to build on the foundation established by state, federal and private initiatives, and to address the challenges through collaboration on technical research, graduate and undergraduate education and economic development.
We invite you to join us in pursuit of those goals and to use us a resource in your important work. Please contact Jane Harf to learn more about participation in the University Clean Energy Alliance of Ohio.
