Inaugural State-Wide Conference for Iowa's Not-For-Profit Community

February 16 - February 18, 2009

The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs in conjunction with the Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center and a state-wide steering committee from the Iowa not-for-profit community collaborated to create the inaugural Iowa Not-for-Profit Alliance Conference, which will become an annual event.

The conference promoted three tracks including best practices, cost saving measures and a legislative update; all focused on the not-for-profit community. More than 300 attendees and experts participated from around the state. A two-day expo also provided an opportunity for suppliers and other organizations in the industry to network with attendees and to display their goods and services.

An investment policy statement helps a nonprofit organization achieve its organizational goals without taking undue risks. An effective investment policy statement also helps:

- Establish portfolio objectives to meet the organization’s needs
